Watching losing Alice on my Mac snd have to get out of bed after each episode. It’s like going back to the 90s. Why doesn’t appletv+ move on automatically to the next episode ?

I figured it must be a setting but there isn’t one. Google says I have to set up playlists. Wtf.

between this and there being hardly anything on it plus the mess of content that isn’t actually Apple TV + and just the name of it, Netflix must be wetting themselves.

Firstly apologies, if any Admin sees this can they move it to the correct appletv+ forum as its a Mac and appletv+ issue not an Apple TV issue.

its like the Mac app (is it really an app or a disguised browser) is gimped.

just played things on my iPhone and then my Mac. iPhone automatically goes onto next episode. Mac doesn't.
theres nothing in settings to change that.

You don't have a remote?
As HDFan said, you could buy a remote and use that?

He's watching on a Mac. I'm not sure what remote would let you navigate to the episode list and select another episode.

Macs used to have that great Front Row interface which optimized things for using your Mac the way you do a TV. Sadly gone.

Cool! But not sure this will solve the OP's problem: that he has to manually select the next episode of the show he's watching. I don't believe TV.app is not really set up to do that with anything but a trackpad or mouse.

Checking that SiriMote thing you linked to, it supports "Launch, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, Next Track, Previous Track". You can do most of that with any bluetooth keyboard.

nah, and tbh if there was tons of great content on appletv+ I might look into it but given ive watched ted lasso and I now have to wait a week for every episode of losing Alice, I guess ill stick to watching netflix in bed.

just find it very un apple.

I'm actually having exactly the same problem watching Losing Alice on my Apple TV 4K. There's no play next/up next option, so I have to dig around in the menus.

For Ted Lasso I had to manually go back to the main menu each time to play the next episode , but for Tehran it would play the next episode automatically. Really confusing.

I've never had issues with auto-playing ATV+ or other shows but there is one caveat:

The TV app, regardless of content or provider, will NOT cue up the next episode automatically after THREE episodes have played. I think it's some sort of protection so you don't fall asleep and lose your place in a long storyline or something. Netflix will ask 'are you still there?' after a few hours of inactivity as well.
