I dont know if this is the right place to ask but I have a 2012 imac with 1tb fusion drive. I have windows 7 on bootcamp as well as osx. Just the other day I cannot boot into mac, only win7. I ran diskutility at boot and verified the disk. It comes up saying that bootcamp partition needs to be repaired but the options to verify or repair is grayed out. Yet I can boot into windows. If i try and boot into osx .. e apple sign comes up on the gray screen and a spinning progress meter and then it just shuts off. What to do?

Run Disk Utility and verify the OS X partition and also do a repair permissions on the OS X partition.

it wont let me .. i can verify and it says bootcamp partition needs to be repaired but it wont let me .. so i sell the whole hdd instead of the partitions and it just errors out saying repair the bootcamp partition and it wont let me do anything else.

and yet i can only boot into windows .. makes no sense

yea tried that. I finally got osx reinstalled .. but something weird happened.

In disk utility where it shows the main drive and then underneath it shows the osx partition as Macintosh HD .. it labeled the main drive Virtual Whole Disk .. I will post a pic.

I have another imac with the same specs and it says

Macintosh HD
Macintosh HD

The one I am talking about now says

Virtual Whole Disk
Macintosh HD

???

pic coming in a minute

here is the pic

It seems to be working fine right now but I am going to have to install win7 on bootcamp again. I dunno I guess I can let her use it and see if it has any issues before bootcamping and moving data over.

When I called applecare they didnt really have any ideas on what to try compared to what I had already did.
