Can't burn DL DVD with Macbook.

I bought an external DVD burner, since my MB won't burn DL DVDs, but when I insert a DL DVD it just says unsupported disc.

Why is this happening? I'm sure the external burner supports DL.

More info please. Such as macbook model, dvd burner model, tiger or leopard?, etc.

It's one of the first Macbooks released, it has DVD writer, but not DL support. I have Leopard with the latest updates. And the external DVD burner is a LG GE20 Super Multi.

Currently, there are two kinds of DL media, (-)R and (+)R.
