cant capture onto final cut pro any more

after 6 months of easy good capturing from dv camera into FCP ,upon hooking up my macG5 to the web finally, now i find that even tho it says vtr ok it cannot capture any dv films. i can capture to i-movie but not to FCP.
What has happenned?

1. Easy setup your project to the camera's format (PAL/NTSC; etc.).
2. Make sure your scratch disk has space on it.
