You have to relaunch the dock for the change to take hold. Or log out and log back in again.

Open terminal and type "killall Dock" without the quotes and hit enter, but logging out and logging back in again should have made the change to the icon in the dock.

How did you change the finder icon in the first place?

yes you can. but you need to relaunch the dock by logging in/out. if that doesn't work, try restarting the computer.

open terminal? ok how do u that?

i changed it like the rest, :apple: -I then copied and paste the icon i did want.

and how would u do that?

assuming you are using the MB: press the power button and click on "restart."

if the dock icon is still not changed, then try using candybar, which allows you to change a certain number of icons before paying for the software. restart computer after applying any changes to take effect.

and as u can see the icon is changed on the finder just not the dock

and i did restart it :(

i stink i hate beening a n00b

i tried that numerous times and it never worked for me.

That's strange. OK then still no Terminal, what's wrong with opening Activity Monitor (which is a good app to have in the Dock always) and selecting what you want to quit and hit the big red 'quit' button. You can quit the Finder and the Dock as well as 'SystemUIServer', which is useful for putting the X-Assist drop down menu back where it belongs.

Cindy, I think these people are just funning with you. For god's sake why point a n00b at Terminal?

You can use the Force Quit shortcut (Cmd+Option+Esc) and select Finder then click 'relaunch'.

She needs to relaunch Dock, not Finder

try the link (candybar) that i posted.

very cute wallpaper btw.

just used candybar thanks. here is the new pink finder and trash! i'm very happy now.

the wallpaper is the mighty boosh if they were hello kittie. if u know who the mighty boosh is?
