That's strange. OK then still no Terminal, what's wrong with opening Activity Monitor (which is a good app to have in the Dock always) and selecting what you want to quit and hit the big red 'quit' button. You can quit the Finder and the Dock as well as 'SystemUIServer', which is useful for putting the X-Assist drop down menu back where it belongs.

OMG that was great! you did that yourself? see my mac understands about the work thing, it's job and it has to be. the home pc and i have to talk because it's in the living room and if it breaks i have to touch it. ewwww
