Can’t change WSJ subscription payment method via Apple Pay

I originally subscribed to the WSJ within the iOS app. I paid with Apple Pay, and now I’m trying to change my pay method. I have the new method in my “wallet” but I don’t see a way to switch. I contacted WSJ and they couldn’t do anything, and Apple said to go under subscriptions within the iTunes section under settings. Problem is I don’t have that option...would my subscription cancel if I removed my debit card from my wallet? I’d be fine doing that and resubbing if that’s the case. I have no idea what to do otherwise...
