I used to select the "Private" button and then select "Close all tabs" Now that feature is gone. I can't find out how to do it now. Surely they didn't take that ability away did they? Does anyone here know how to close all safari tabs with iOS 8? I've googled this and searched here on MR. I can't believe im the only one to ask this.

I've only got a yeahbut to offer. The option to close all tabs is gone, and I'm not thrilled about this decision. The "yeah, but" is that iOS 8 Safari gives us a simultaneous "Private" windows session alongside the "Normal" windows session by tapping the Private toggle. Apple giveth a feature and taketh away a feature. I'm OK with the new option, given that I can now "toss" windows to close them. That I can keep separate sessions open is something I like and can't find in any other browser.

Settings > Safari > "Clear History and Website Data"

So far, this is one way to do it.

Regarding the private and non private set of tabs, personally I like that you can keep the non-private set open whilst going to private, but feel like you when you leave private it should close them all. I think many people may leave them open without realising.

Also you rarely need to suspend private browsing for a stint of non-private. But suspending non-private for a bit of private seems far more common.

This is ridiculous. So far I am hating iOS8. Its full of bugs and nonsensical facets while removing a couple of my favorite features.

***On top of that, I've never had to reset my apple devices so much. Now they feel like the defective windows laptop I bought a couple years ago. Grrr...
