So, with my new MacBook Pro I cannot connect to FTP host. What could be stopping it? I've tried FTP and SFTP. I've tried: Dreamweaver, Filezilla, Fetch and Cyberduck. I have disabled firewall.

In Dreamweaver I get: A FTP error occured, Cannot make connection to host

SOMETHING is blocking, what is it. Please, please help, I have tried everything now in over six months, and I need to update my website.

I'm going to ask the obvious questions...

are the host server details correct?
are the username/password correct?
can you ftp to the site from someone else's machine/network?

can you ftp to other sites from your machine/network?

As a simple test, can you ftp to...

ftp.mozilla.org

user = ftp
password = ftp
