I have three computers on my home ethernet (wired) network, an iMac, eMac, and iBook, connected by an Asante FR3004C router. The iMac and iBook recognize each other, the eMac and iBook recognize each other, but the iMac and eMac don't recognize each other. By "recognize" I mean that in a finder window, when I click on Network, the other computer is listed.

Any suggestions why the eMac and iMac don't see each other? The problem started when I replaced an older iMac with a new 24" aluminum iMac.

As far as I can see, the network settings on all three computers are the same.

Thanks!

Try turning AppleTalk on the new iMac in the network system preferences panel. Your older macs are probably dependent on it.
