I can't connect to the Mac App Store or to Software update, and all Apple wants me to do is call Apple Care. Has anyone else had this problem before?

I've tried deleting the .plist files as suggested in other places, but I'm having no luck. I know it's happened since the supplemental update/iTunes 10.6 update because I was able to connect just fine before that.

Any thoughts or ideas on this one?

This exact thing was happening when I upgraded to 8GB ram; when it came to reinstalling or updating, it petered out connecting to the servers.

Once I took out the 8GB and replaced it with the stock 4GB that came with the machine, instantly everything worked again.

Really? I wonder if that's the problem. I'll do a hardware check later. This machine still has the stock RAM in it, so it's not a third party issue. However, it might be that.

I talked to Apple yesterday, and they had me do a disk check. I had many problems with the disk, repaired it, but that didn't do anything to fix my problems. I can't call them again right now, but I'll try again later.

Thanks for the reply!
