My M4 ipad Pro had been able to create memories after updating to iPadOS 26, but I did a restore on it to try and fix a different issue. That was on Tuesday. It’s now Saturday and I still can’t create memories on it as it says it’s unavailable until there are more photos and videos available and to leave my iPad charging with the screen locked and on WiFi. I’ve had my iPad plugged in every night for the last 4 days. I have 11,591 photos and 934 videos, all have been downloaded.

I also am seeing a message when searching in Photos that some results man not appear. Despite that message I’m seeing the same results that I see on my other devices, even when doing natural language searches, so it appears to have analyzed my photos, but it thinks it’s not done.

Any idea how to get it to finish?

I decided to plug my iPad into my Mac and look at the logs in console. About 5 minutes later I could create memories in Photos. I had had my Mac plugged to power in all day. I’m still seeing the “Some results may not appear” when searching, but since searching seems to be working I guess I can ignore that for now.
