The money is not a large difference to be honest but £300 I can spend on something else I suppose.

There are 2 main things that are important to me. Battery life and having a telephoto lens.

I was completely sold on the max pro but now am not too sure. It appears that apart from video, the 15 plus has better battery life. Also the 15 plus has 2x zoom which is enough (is this optical or digital ?).

Still not sure !!!!

Pro Max starts from 256gb so if you need more than 128GB i would suggest the Pro Max because upgrading the Plus to 256gb narrows the price difference.

If you don't need more than 128GB it is a tough choice. You get a 120Hz screen on the Pro Max though, a titanium chassis, faster chipset, faster wired data transfer and the resale value will be probably higher in the long run. It's up to you to decide if those are things that are worth 300 quid more.

If the Tele lens is important, you have to go for the Pro because its not existing in the Plus. Battery life should be about the same.

You can think of that $300 as you investing in your next 3-4 years of better experience, though at iPhone 15 plus level I think either choice is strong.

I’m in the same boat. I tend to keep my phone for years and usually buy top of the line, but I’m considering the base 15 this time. It’s a solid upgrade over my Xs Max. Saves a few bucks. You can max out the storage for the same price as the 128gb pro

I just find titanium so ugly. Cloudy and dull. The natural color looks like cast iron. Brutal. But Aluminum reminds me of the Ive era. Why am I nostalgic for freakin MATERIALS 😂

I just don’t know which way to go.

I had read that thread on the 2x zoom, its definitely digital :(

Thanks for the above, 256 and the a17 are pushing me the other way. If you do go 256 on the 15 plus, its only £200 diff, which I reckon is mostly recoverable when selling in a year ;)

So it's really £300 saving vs a better phone,
how often do I use telephone zoom - once a week ? particularly with people pictures.
Will I notice the A17 - probably not ?
Will I notice the 256 - I don't watch downloaded video or run games, and everything is offsite (photos -> google and using one drive for documents) - so probably not ?

Still don't know :(

I went back and forth between the Plus and Pro Max. Even had the Pro Max pre ordered last night but I switched this morning and ordered a black 15 Plus.

I wanted the better features on the Pro Max, but I wanted the lower weight on the Plus even more, it’s really one of the most important features in a phone for me. I don’t like heavy phones and was thinking I would regret the Pro Max for that reason.
