when I go to finder and "go to folder" to search for the cash files I start typing ~/Library/Caches
but the second after I type the first forward slash the computer automatically deletes the forward slash.

Anybody know whats going on here?

Doing the same here.
But you can get to your home library folder from the Go menu in the Finder. Just hold down OPTION. Library will then show up in the Go menu.

Yup. The library folder inside your home folder, is where the Cache folder is located. The library folder is just hidden.

~/ Means home folder.

The easiest way to erase Cache Files is to establish 'Develop; in the Safari Menu Bar.

To do this go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced > Click bottom option 'Show Develop Menu ion Menu Bar'. From 'Develop' in Menu Bar, down to Empty Caches
