Cant downgrade Sierra on new 2016 macbook pro

Hi everyone,

I have a new macbook pro 2016 model that shipped with sierra but i am trying to downgrade without success back to el capitan. I have an el capitan usb bootable stick that just doesn't work when i try and boot from it. I just used it on another machine so i know it works. When i hold the option key on my new mac to get to the boot option i select the bootable usb stick but then i'm greeted with the no entry sign.

Just wondered if anyone has had this or if its a new thing with the new macbooks

You can't install an older version of macOS than what came on the computer. El Capitan doesn't support your computer, which is why you get the prohibitory sign.

El Capitan does not and will not have the drivers needed to support the new hardware, it will not work.

The version of Sierra that shipped on the new 2016 MacBook Pro is "the oldest" version that can run on it.

You can upgrade "going forward", but not "back".

And that's literally "the end of the story"…
