iPhone Can't download apps

Whenever I try to download an app on my iPhone X, I get a screen that looks like this. "Double Click to Install" and the white bar next to it pulses a bit. Tapping or double tapping doesn't do anything. The only live element is the Cancel button.

It’s telling you to double press the button on the side of the phone.

It should. It works for me every time. You don’t tap anything on the screen. All you do is double press the side button when you’re prompted to do so and it should work. If you have Face ID enabled, make sure you’re looking at the screen as you double press the side button. Read through this if you’re still having issues:

What Matt stated should work. If it doesn’t, you are doing it wrong, software bug, or there is a problem with your phone.
