Cant eject install disks off the desktop

After down loading something (say like skype) and installing, I cant eject the expanded installer disks (not sure what they are properly called but the opened dmg files) from my desktop and its starting to clog up the desktop

Ive tried everything, right clicking on it then eject, ejecting from finder, restarting the computer etc

anyone else experiencing this?

any ideas?

its ok i restarted again and they were gone
