I want to access some files in one of my games, I know the process to getting there Macintosh HD>users>Username>Library>etc. But here's the thing I go to Finder and the whole Macintosh HD, User etc. Folders are gone, all I have in the sidebar is:

Favorites
  • AirDrop
  • Applications
  • Desktop
  • Documents
  • Downloads
  • Movies
  • Music
  • Pictures

I don't see such a folder where I can access Library from my users folder. My system is up to date; I didn't noticed this till now. I still can access Library If I do command>shift>G and enter ~/Library but this doesn't necessarily help my problem with me trying to access this folder just from Finder. Is there anyway I can just reset my files so they are where they should be? Perhaps I accidentally removes it from the sidebar but I don't remember doing so.

Any solutions?

As of 10.7, the user library is hidden, but easily accessible.

In the finder, click on the 'Go' menu at the top menu bar, then hold down the option key. You'll see 'Library' appear, just click on that and you're in.

Your Library folders are hidden by default in Lion and ML. To get to your /Library or /Users/yourusername/Library (also known as the ~/Library) folders in Lion and ML:
  • Launch Finder and click Go > Go to Folder and type: /Library or ~/Library
  • Hold the Option key while clicking the Go menu item, which reveals your ~/Library folder in the menu.
  • Make it permanently visible in Finder by entering the following command in Terminal, then press the Enter key:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
  • 18 ways to view the ~/Library folder in Lion
