After completing a Doc. I put it into the Dock. Now I need to find the original because I accedently deleted it to the trash. Looked in trash but could not find it.

The Dock is not a place to actually store a file, it is a place to put shortcuts to files, folders and applications, thus your file will be stored somewhere in your home folder.
Have you already tried to search for it via Spotlight or CMD+F in Finder?

Ok I found them.I put them in Documents and then put them into a new folder an added that folder to the dock. There are 3 Documents, two have XLSX and the other has XLS and showes a Lock icon on the bottom of it. I assume it is (locked).
