can't find third party screensaver?

I have made multiple attempts at installing third party screensavers. They install just fine. The problem is that when i go to system and prefrences/ screensavers, i can't find them. I can find them in finder, and click "open with system and preferences", and system and preferences will open, but won't list my screensaver. They are .saver files and are for mac os x, so what am i missing? Any help would be great. 🙂

are you sure you're looking hard enough? they should be in the scroll view in the screensaver section on the left hand side after they are installed and they may be down the bottom of the list. if not:
a) check the screensavers are compatible with your current OS
b) repair disk permissions and try installing again.
