i downloaded xcode but i cant find it? i tried to search spotlight but i see xcode things but not the application..should i uninstall and redownload?

If I remember correctly there should be a folder called Developer in the root of your HDD.
Example:
Macintosh HD
- Applications
- Developer
- Library
- System
- Users
Example:
Macintosh HD
- Applications
- Developer
- Library
- System
