My ITouch is stuck on my music folder it was stuck on the googleEarth app. but some how i got out of that. it was stuck on there for like half the day yesterday and i didnt even click to go to that app. i have tryed to turn it off but it wont even turn off. this is my first apple product so i am a newbie.

Please help me.

Press and hold the Home button AND the Sleep button for about 15 seconds. The touch should then reboot itself and start up properly.
 
this will not reset it correct. cause i dont want to loose all my data if i dont have to.

If things like that keep happening consistantly even after you do what the above poster said then I recommend you restore it.

It will not, it's just a manual reboot.
Another was it to just hold down the sleep/wake button for a few seconds then slide to power off.
