kde82.Linux.. thank you it worked!

ok if your checking on website that ok but not going to help you.

Do not plug you iPod in yet

in fact manuel Del all mail and any other set that you set, put them back to what you think are the default. I ask you to do this just to make sure everything works with no add side problem :)

for the best way I have found it to work is using MAIL.app with Gmail IMAP account

If and if you need steps of setting up MAIL.app go here < http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77663&topic=12920 >

ok now you should have your IMAP turn on and POP turn off. for this to work in more then one place. and trust me you do not pop3 only on your Touch. Believe when I say this. I personaly love my Touch. but I still used my MAIL.APP b/c you can store save email email on to your macBook.

now you have your email running on you MACbook. your say get it on my touch...

ok here where it get simple. open iTunes if it not, Now iTune is going to pick up your Touch. now go over to the info tab on the Ipod Touch, setting in iTunes. then scroll down and click the option for adding your email to the touch..

this works for me.

I hope this help you out.[/QUOTE]

If I do believe the beginning ? was for the Touch, yes I do know, the Touch run ALMOST all the apps that are on the iPhone. but I personaly have not played with the iPhone next to the touch for mail. but I would jump out and take a guess that this link above will help for both.

just thought i would point out:apple:

GLAD I can help

kde82.Linux..... thank you it worked! adding gmail to my mac mail worked great!

I dont want to sound like a know it all. but i have had linux running on all my built box for about 12-15yrs now. WOW that is long LOL. ok my point is i have found play around with doing tweaks here and there, to see how it work. NOW I am talking about softwear now. I mean what the worst thing to happen in softwear. you have uninstall and start over.

so since MAC *kissing my MACBOOK PRO* is basic off of UNIX, I just took what I knew and just played around..

long story short. I am happy that it work for you. Like a lot of Linux user go under the GNL law of sharing is the Best way to network apps. :D

To be able to get Gmail on your iPod touch, you need to do the following steps

Step 1. Sign in using your full Gmail address and password

Step 2. Go down to manage security and click on it

Step 3. Go down to connected applications and sites and click review permissions

Step 4. Re-enter your password

Step 5. Go down to Application-Specific passwords

Step 6. Go down to where it says 'Step 1 of 2: Generate new application-specific password' and enter a name for your application. Something like 'My iPod Gmail' or something.

Step 7. Click Generate Password

Step 8. Go to your Gmail account on your iPod touch you'll probably get a message like Cannot get mail: Username or password for imap.google.com is incorrect or something like that.

Step 9. Click Settings, it'll take you to the settings for your Gmail account on your iPod.

Step 10. Enter generated password from your computer. The spaces between each group of 4 letters isn't necessary, just type it all in.

This should work, it worked on mine.

RexPrime94 - Please clarify

RexPrime94, Where are you doing these steps, on your desktop/laptop computer? In the Mail app or gmail web site?

Then I'd have to update the password on my laptop/Mail app, too?

I haven't changed any settings since I set up my iPod Touch over a year ago. Now I cannot get my clearwire via gmail accounts to connect.

Thanks
