Push lightly the app will begin to shake after about 2seconds, then you can Click the X to delete.

I'd make sure restrictions are set to allow for deleting apps. I lock mine so my son doesn't delete apps on me by accident.

Try doing a hard restart of your phone and then try deleting the apps. Maybe they got hung up on the failed install.

If you have a 6s or earlier, hold the power button and home screen at the same time and only let go when you see the Apple logo on the screen. If you have a 7, you hold the power button and volume button together at the same time till you see the Apple logo.

That's the home screen button, sorry.

Your saying I'm doing something wrong? That's why I'm on the phone with apple right now and there stumped on the problem. They even connected to my screen and watched me try to delete them.

What did they say? Not being able to delete an app is a new one for me. Very curious to see what you found out with Apple Support.

Told me I'd have backup my phone and restore the phone. Something probably went corrupt they said.

Sounds like the app install was corrupted and never finished installing. I have had an android phone do the same.

Another good reason to keep current backups.
