Can't get passed "restore iphone from"

I restored my iPhone 3G to try to get rid of my lagging... and i was using 2.0.1. Now it only allows me to restore from my previous iphone sync or a new phone. I have done this 2 times, and i cant get to the sync screen.

any help please. Thanks
 
Nevermind...

Apple forums said to begin a restore, force quick iTunes and then reconnect. Just incase someone else has the same issue.
