can't get wi-fi on ipad standing next to router

Since updating my ipad a week ago, I cannot connect to wi-fi anywhere. I've reset my router, and still under settings/network No Wi-Fi. How can I fix this?
I use my ipad for everything.

try resetting your network settings on your ipad itself.

It will take a while to reset it but that should do it. Don't get scared.

Have you power cycled your iPad since the update? If not try that first.

Also, if you can see, but not connected, to the intended network try hitting the "forget this network" option and reconnect to it as a new network.
