Can't import analog video into iMovie HD!

I have a Diamond Pro analog camera that is conected by S-video to a Canapus ADVC-110 converter which is connected by firewire to a brand new Mac mini. All I get is a blue screen in iMovie that states camera is connected and playing. I have tried all the suggested resetting/cycling and different sequences of opening software and powering on equipment. Nothing works. 😕

The converter worked fine when I connected my VCR with RCA cables to it and firewire to an iBook with iMovie.

Did you press play on the camera itself? iMovie can't control the camera through the av to dv bridge.

Just an update: With no replies that suggested anything new, I figured the problem had to be with my set-up or equipment. With some trial and error I determined I had a bad S-Video cable. All works fine now!
