can't install 10.5.2 update

Hi, I have a big problem. I got my mother a whitebook a year ago and updated it to leopard. She is as far from technology as a person can be and everything that seems quotidian for us is a scary chore for her. the problem is: Leopard no longer recognises her admin password, I even got as far as managing to make her reboot with the leopard DVD inside to reset the password from the utility but the problem persists. I heard that this problem is addressed in 10.5.2 but she can't install it. What's worse is that I'm in Spain while she is in Vzla so I can´t get my hands on her laptop.

Any thoughts?
