Hi everyone,

Every time I try to install watch is 2.2 beta 1 I get this message when I'm at home connected to my extremely fast and reliable wifi. I have also tried restarting my iPhone and watch and have 9.3 beta 1 installed on iPhone.

Please let me know if anyone else has this issue?

Thanks

Saharan

I can't even get the Watch app to recognize that there is an update. It just tells me 2.1 is the most current software, even though the beta profile is installed.

I thought you had to be on iOS 9.3 Beta 1 to be able to install the 2.2 Beta?

Unpair your Apple Watch then repair and restore from backup and install the config file and update will go through confirmed by me

For me it was not necessary to wipe the apple watch. Just make sure the profile is installed on both the iPhone and Apple watch. After that it installed fine for me. But ymmv of course...

I've unpaired, reset, resynched and reloaded the beta profile and still just seeing the "Your software is up to date" message. I'm on 9.3 on iPhone 6S Plus. Anyone else have an idea how to get this working? The battery life on the watch when on 9.3 and 2.1 is appalling. Like 50% gone in a few hours.

You dont need to install the profile on both your watch and your phone. You open the profile on your phone and install it only on your watch.

I ended up having to reset my Watch and restoring from backup to get it to update. Only installed the profile on the Watch and not my iPhone.

So I'm confused now. I have 9.3 on phone and the beta profile. I opened the profile link on my phone and then chose the option for Apple Watch option. After it installed and restarted I went to phone then Watch/General/Software Update and it says I'm up to date with 2.1, it's not seeing an available update.

Are you saying I don't need to install the profile on the watch?

You need to install the OSWatch beta profile only on the Watch.

Maybe try re-starting your iPhone and checking the update again?

No, I'm saying you install the profile on the watch and NOT on the phone. However, to install the profile on your watch you have to download it via safari/an email/something, open it, and when it asks where to install it you select the watch. The watch will then restart. You should not see the profile on your phone in Settings -> General -> Profiles (this option will not exist if you have no profiles installed).

I see my error, I was trying to install the iOS profile on the watch. I downloaded the WatchOS profile but my watch battery dies so will try it once I get home and get the battery on the charger.

thanks!

Cool. The beta configuration profile has to be installed on the device that you want to receive that beta. So the WatchOS profile on the watch and the iOS 9.3 profile on the iPhone.

I got the same error as OP, but the second time I tried it worked.

Try again if you get this error before going through the trouble of un-pairing and restoring from backup.
