can't locate Install OS X el Capitan.app after upgrading

So I've just upgraded from Maverick to el Capitan via the "Upgrade" button in the AppStore. I like to have a USB bootable backup but cannot find the "Install OS X el Capitan.app anywhere in the /Applications folder. Anyone got any ideas ?

To the best of my knowledge, the OS automatically deletes it after the install. What I do, is to copy it after it downloads from the app store, but before I run the installer. You can re-download it in the purchases section of appstore.

The installer for OS X self destructs (deletes itself) once the installation is complete.
If you wanted to make a USB installer, you should have done that before performing the upgrade.

I was afraid of the "Self-destructs" answer 🙁

It is not a problem just go to the store and download again. It will be in the app folder and you can then make your install disk.

Photos comes with El Capitan, it's not in the app store.
It should already be in your /Applications folder.
