Hi

I have an iCloud account. None of my devices are logged in. When I try to login on my iPad I'm asked for an Apple ID verification code from my other device. Since I don't have any other devices logged in, I opt for texting code to my phone number which is displayed as *** **85, and I can see from that the country code is missing. When I press the button I get the message: "Verification failed. Please enter a valid country code". Now I was never given the change to enter anything. And this method worked fine just some weeks ago.

I've tried everything, like trying to reset my iCloud password on appleid.apple.com. In that process I'm asked a bunch of questions, like what's my current phone number, which is the same number thats on file already. So I'm denied the change and told to try to login through the normal way.

I've tried posting to discussions.apple.com, but I get the message: "You are not allowed to create or update this content"

I've tried to locate a way to contact apple. But all the links I've pressed end with me needing to login to my appleid.

So I'm a bit stuck here! Anyone know what to do?

regards

Frimann

Have you tried iForgot?
https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid

I had to go through this just last week, after I was notified that one of my iCloud accounts had someone try to reset my password. Several of my friends got a similar email. I, too, was not signed into that iCloud account - it's tied to my personal App Store account so there's no Apple device signed into it as an "iCloud" account, only iTunes/MAS/iOS App Store. There's a few options available, but those 3 options didn't work for me - I was given a 24-hour timeout (to prevent fraud, according to Apple), and to check back with the iForgot web page.

I revisited the iForgot web page after 24 hours elapsed, signed in and was prompted for a new password. I'm up and running, until someone tries to brute force my account again...
