I setup a dual boot on my PC laptop with Vista and Windows 7 beta. I can access the files on my iMac with no problem in Vista but I can't in Windows 7. I've setup 7 as I did in Vista and made sure SMB is on. I can't see the iMac on 7 but I can see 7 on the iMac. Any ideas?

I think it might have something to do with 'homegroup' are your computers all in the same Workgroup? i.e MSHOME or 'workgroup'

I've checked the workgroups and all the systems are on the same workgroup. At one point I was able to see the iMac but I could not fully connect. There has to be something simple I'm missing.

    Having the same problem...

I installed Windows 7 to my main PC, which has been used for file sharing hub and backup, previously it was on Vista Business. It has been running fine and have all the connectivity with my Mac OS X, another laptop on Vista Premium, and 2 XP machines (including one running on my Fusion 2.0 MacBook Pro). I am convinced the issue is with Homegroup feature on the new Window 7. All of the computers are in Workgroup called MSHOME before.

UPDATE: I can ping from my PC to see the Mac but not vice-versa. So, Homegroup definitely blocking the view here.

Anyone has any idea what is the workaround to enable the functionality again? it was working before with smb.//192.168.X.XXX link.

    TIA
