I can only open word from my office folder, within my applications folder, not from my desktop.. All other programs work perfectly. Is there anything I can do to open it from my desktop?
What did you put on the Desktop? An alias?
Can you make a screenshot of the Get Info window (CMD+I) of that Word shortcut and attach it to your next post?
What Mac OS X version do you use?
Why can't you use an alias* instead of a duplicate/copy to store a shortcut to Word? You could also use Alfred or Spotlight to launch applications, if you don't want to use the Dock.
I don't really like the little arrow that comes up when you have an alias haha, however an alias does open from the desktop! I guess I could use it as a temporary solution, but I'd rather have a duplicate.
