Is it just me or have they removed this feature? What on Earth for? The download has gone from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and I need to leave for work so would rather resume later. Do I now have to leave my computer on all day? What a stupid idea. Anybody know a way around this?

Just noticed the problem here too. Needed bandwidth for a skype call and couldn't get the download to pause or even quit! I just updated to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard today so I can't tell if this is a new "feature/bug" or not.

    Really?

This is just ridiculous. I don't on earth understand why this would have been removed.

A rolling blackout should do the job for you. Given Apple's location, you'd think they'd make allowances for power failures.
