Hi Guys

I have problem with my mac, VLC can't play video, it keeps freezing. I tried to use other media player, same thing happened.

My photos app also doesnt work when VLC can't play the videos.

I had this problem since Yosemite, I am on El Cap now.

Is there anyone have the same problem like me? Please help.

First we'll verify there aren't any software/hardware issues causing the problem. Doesn't take long at all to do so it's worth us getting that out the way before we check anything else.

1) Download SMART Utility and run it, anything other than 'Passed' means your HDD is corrupted.

2) Verify volume in Disk Utility, quote this if you get red writing & we'll run repair in OS X Utilities.

3) Providing the above two steps demonstrated no issues, restart your Mac with 'reopen windows when logging back in' disabled/unticked. Any better?

Please let me know what the news is.

Ran SMART Utility, PASSED
Verify volume in Disk Utility, seems work fine
Restarted (reopen windows Disabled)

Still no luck.
