When I try to print and go through the print dialouge I get a message saying "Error while Printing", this happens in every application and with every printer I try. I have tired restarting aswell. I know my printer is working correctly because when I run its utilities program I can do everything correctly. How do I fix this?

--thanks

May just be a corrupt plist file. Have you tried deleting any of the preference files, including com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist?

I just tried both of those things, remvoing the preference file didn't help and when I tried to re-add the printer in System Preferences I get this message:

"An error occored when trying to add the selected printer
successful-ok-conflicting-attributes"

Not sure which is worse - that you can't add the printer, or that the error message is misspelled! :p

Have you repaired permissions?

Ha well that's what happens when I type fast, and repairing permissions did the tirck, funny how it's always the thing people say isn't going to help much and it did the tirck :)
