Cant remove icon from home screen

When i try to remove it it tells me that it cannot be removed.

What kind of icon is it? Can you select the icon then hit command-i for the get info window and tell use what that says?

Is it maybe a disk image from an app your installed and you did not eject the DMG?

It was an excel work page. I shut it down and it went away. Thanks Anyway.
