Can't respond to text messages

All of the sudden I can't respond to any text messages. When I hit the bar to enter text nothing happens. I can still send a new message. I have restored my phone and that didn't work. I have an appointment to go in the store and hopefully have it replaced tomorrow but if someone might have another solution please let me know. Thanks
