Can't Restore iPhone???

EDIT: I now can't restore iphone! I tried to restore, got error 1013, tried to use recboot and it's not working! It still says I need to connect to itunes in order to restore

This is after updating to 4.2...anyone else have this issue?

EDIT: It seems as if I can't find any of the JB "apps" in settings

EDIT: I have also tried tinyumbrella, still not working. Still get the connect to itunes symbol

have you ever used TinyUmbrella? If so, did you edit your host file back to normal? Are you running the latest version of iTunes?

Hmm not running latest version, will upgrade to that and see if ith elps. I have used tinyumbrella before, and I don't know if I have edited my host file back to normal. I tried irecovery, which opened terminal and did:

"./iRecovery [args]
-f <file> upload file.
-r reset usb.
-c "command" sends a single command.
-s starts a shell.

[Process completed]

but still nothing worked. I'll let you know with itunes update

ive never used irecovery so im not sure what it does exactly. TinyUmbrella had changed by host file without changing it back, so i found a tutorial online somewhere on how to change it. also, when i updated from 4.1 > 4.2.1 i got the 1013 error and it was because i hadn't updated iTunes

Oo thank you very much! It worked and I'm restoring, then I'll re-jb.

I'll edit this post and bump it if I come across the same issue before which was that none of the JB apps were appearing in settings when I used pkgbackup to restore...that's why I re-restored in the first place haha.
