I have established a few NFS mounts via the Disk Utility in 10.6.8. I can not search and find any documents when the share is using NFS.... but with SMB, it will search and find the files.

Is there something i'm doing wrong? I don't expect spotlight to work... but the regular search in finder should work.. right?

A work around is to use Adobe Bridge to search the shares... it also builds a cache.. so it works fairly decently.

I hate to rely on Adobe Bridge for production

I am also running 10.6.8 and am able to search my NFS share. I don't think it should matter, but I did not use disk utility to mount the share. I used the command:

mount -o rw servername:/home/rest/of/path /Users/me/mountfolder/

The export options I used are: *(fsid=0,anonuid=1000,anongid=100,crossmnt,rw,root_squash,all_squash,sync,no_subtree_check,insecure)
