Can't see my Win XP computer on my mac

Hey everyone,

So I'm trying to use my old Windows XP notebook as a "print/network" server, so I can keep the wires away from my Macbook Pro.

Ideally, I just want my Windows PC to show up, be able to access data from attached hard drives and print to attached printers.

I know I always see everyones computers show up in Finder, but for some reason, my XP computer won't.

Can I do this wirelessly, or does it need to be hooked up directly to the router?
