Can't seem to open PDF file in the mail on the operating system Sierra

Hi everyone, I have a PDF file attachment in my mail program, in the Sierra operating system. I just had to install a new hard drive. And I cannot seem to open up my PDF file attachments. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can you post some screenshots and things you've tried?

If double-clicking on the pdf attachment in Mail won't open it, you might try to "drag n drop" it onto the desktop, and then double-click on it.

If that doesn't work, either right-click or control-click on the file in question. This should offer you the "open with…" option.
What choices does that display?
