Has anyone else had this problem? Am I doing it incorrectly?
in the Help file for Messages in macOS Tahoe 26.2 are the following ways to delete several messages in a Conversation:
  • Select an item: Move the pointer over the item, then click it.
  • Select multiple items: Press and hold the Command key, then click the items.
  • Select multiple items that are next to each other: Click the first item you want to select, press and hold the Shift key, then click the last item.
You can also click near the first item, press and hold the mouse or trackpad, then drag over all of the items.
- None of these work for me. Instead I have to select & delete each msg separately. That takes me three mouse clicks for each message.
- There's also an annoying delay between clicking the mouse and the selected message responding by turning grey.
I'm looking forward to the collected wisdom.

It seems to be working for me. It does take a long time to react to a click, but both Shift and Command seem to do what they are supposed to.

(Should mention, that I am running 26.2 latest production release).

Working here too - and yes, I do see a slight delay (less than a second) after command-clicking a new message before it turns darker grey.

Thanks for your patience in advising me to be patient. Yes, I see now it's just a delay issue. And now it seems slightly better in 26.3 on my 2022 Mac Studio M1 Max, 32 GB
