Can't send messages

There are a couple of bugs it's seems since ios6 installation days ago,
I can't get messages out. Send is not active. Re-entered contacts..still nothing.
Also notice my volume on this new iPad is weaker than normal.
Also with sending messages, the blue colored " send" button is faded in color .
Anyone familiar?

Wifi , messages , auto sleep function, all have offered small issues since update.
Messages was just my problem,not the device.
Hard reset and or a restore helps most update issues. Mine are gone. This new iPad is working solid now. Apple still #1 . Now lets get a YouTube designation back again and I for one will be satisfied , for now.
