Can't send out mail with the mail application, (can only receive).

Hi,

I am using the mail application to send messages from my gmail and mobile me accounts. However, I am unable to send out the messages that I write.

My outgoing servers are,

for gmail: smtp.gmail.com:igmolinav

and for mobile me: smtp.mac.com:imolinav

What am I doing wrong ?? What can I do in order to be able to send messages through the mail app. ??

Your question has been asked and answered on this forum too many times to count. Based on the entirety of your post, it seems that you know the answer. That said, you are trying to use SMTP servers for domains outside the service provider that you are connecting through. A large and growing number of service providers do not allow this.

You may be able to use Port 587 rather than Port 25 for SMTP access. If this does not work, then you will have to use your email service's webmail client to send messages whenever you are outside its domain.
