Hello all,

I have been searching about this and couldn’t find anything regarding this.

Since iOS11 I am not able to send WhatsApp from search utility in iOS homescreen (Siri Search) by tapping the message button of a given contact. I found this very useful in iOS10 and since the update this has been killed.

Now I am able to select the WhatsApp option in the message button, but when tapping nothing happens.

I have contacted WhatsApp to explain the issue but got no real response. Have you guys encountered the same?

Thank you and regards.

Xavier

I tried it out.. are you saying this ... when in spotlight search, I can type a contact and then directly I can select that contact to whatsapp via Siri search? Like this?

I can send a whatsapp by tapping her name in the whatsapp icon, but i can’t send a message tapping the message icon above..

However, tapping the call icon works and I can send a whatsapp call directly, if I have added it the default from the settings.

Exactly, you can call via WhatsApp from a contact in Siri Search (as long as it is your default option) but you can’t send a message.

It’s wierd that it works on the contacts app, but not on contacts in Siri Search...

Regards.
