So I got a replacement iPhone today from Apple and when I plug it into my iTunes it displays the "Set up your iPhone" screen. I have the option to sync contacts and apps... I've tried a combination of checking/unchecking these options.

When I press "Done", it seems to just freeze. My iPhone does not display sync in progress and iTunes just hangs. Eventually I remove the cable from iPhone then iTunes displays a message that it cannot read/write from the disk or something.

Using iPhone 3GS with iTunes 9.0.2 on Windows 7 x64.

Any ideas?

Can you try it on a different PC?

There are definitely problems with iTunes and Windows x64 versions, it's to do with incompatibilities on the chipset and the usb drivers from what I have read. Reported often for both Vista and W7.
