Universal Can't Share Link via Gmail app?

I can't share a webpage link via Safari on my iPhone using the Gmail app. Not even when I tap 'edit'. Yes I have it set as my default mail app. No difference whether it's set as default or not. Any ideas?

So it's anywprhe in that list of recently used or suggested app icons that appears at the top?

Perhaps reinstalling the Gmail app might make a difference?
