If anyone can please advise, I’d be grateful.

My nan has just had broadband setup, so I thought I’d get to use my old ATV3 whilst here, but it just doesn’t seem to want to let me sign in.

Amazon sign in was fast, and simple.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah it’s not just you, my iCloud sign-in is dead now too, and the advice to put your “access code” in the password to make up for Apples badly coded 2 Factor Auth doesn’t work bc I’d need to go back in time to do it.

Man, every day its some update breaking some other function & leaving a broken mess in its wake. This cloud-based computing crap is so unreliable, I’m going back to my own media library, my own standalone applications, and my own data storage.

I have two ATV3's, replaced them several years ago with ATV4's when I started streaming with Sling because they weren't compatible. I actually liked the ATV3 better - simpler, cleaner, darker user interface, better remote. I still use my ATV3 remotes. But the two ATV3's just sit in the closet now, I really have no need for them.

Too bad, but in today's world I don't think we can expect Apple to support a 2012 device that was discontinued in 2016. Not saying it's right, but it just doesn't surprise me. My ATV4's already have one foot in the grave now too.

I have been doing that all along. When I moved to my current rural location in 2006 there was no broadband or cable TV. Accumulated a large DVD library, started ripping them around 2013 and now have thousands of movies and TV shows on a 2014 Mini media server with a 4tb SSD. I also buy media from Apple but always download it to the server.

Also still running around $5000 worth of legacy software that I bought over 10 years ago in Mountain Lion and Sierra virtual machines in Parallels on my 2018 Mini under Monterey. But realistically, the day will come when it's time to upgrade my hardware and software anyway.
