Hi.

I bought a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro Late 2013. I've installed Mojave, but for whatever reason I cannot sign in to Messages or FaceTime (I've tried every troubleshooting step I can find). On my old MacBook Pro I can still sign out and back in without issue.

Anyone know what I can do to solve this?

Did you wipe the machine clean and then install Mojave, or did you install Mojave over the top of what was on the machine when you purchased it? A clean install is always best if you haven't already done so.

When I first switched the MBP on I set-up High Sierra (it was already installed, just needed setting up), and then upgraded to Mojave. I have since installed a clean version of Mojave and Catalina and still can't sign in.

What kind of error message are you getting?

On the main Messages login screen it just doesn't so anything when I press Next.

If I go to Preferences, and try and sign in there I get the following error message.

Edit: It works. I connected my MBP to my phone and used its personal hotspot, and tried signing in again and now works.

Great! Glad you figured it out!
